After every guess, pins next to it tell you how close you are:
The pins come in no particular order, so they don't say which peg they mean, and each secret peg is counted once. Use what each guess rules out to narrow down the code.
Every day at midnight, your local time. Everyone gets the same daily code, so you can compare scores.
