Thorstein Games
Forging legends in pursuit of glory
We make free games for the moments when friends get together. Open a link, grab your phone, play.
A small studio with a big table
Thorstein Games is a small, independent studio. We make the kind of games you pull up when the whole family is over, when a party needs a second wind, or when friends are spread across a video call and someone says “let's play something”.
Every game runs in the browser. One person opens it, everyone else follows a link, and you're playing. Nobody has to install anything, and nobody has to sign up.
The laws of the hall
- Fehu
Free to play
Every game is free. Ads inside the games keep the fire lit, and Thorstein Gold switches them off for anyone who'd rather support us directly.
- Raidho
Play anywhere
Phones, tablets, laptops and TVs all play together in the same game. Nothing to download, no app store, no account needed to join.
- Gebo
Better together
Most of our games are made for a group: round a table, across a sofa, or scattered over a video call. The arguing is part of the game.
- Dagaz
A new day, a new puzzle
Blocker Rush, Pix Pen and Mastermind deal a fresh daily puzzle at midnight, the same for everyone, so you can compare over breakfast.
What's on the table
Everyone Plays
Everyone joins on their own device and plays every round.
One Drives, Everyone Shouts
One person runs the game on a shared screen while everyone else yells advice, argues and chimes in.
New to one of them? Every game has a guide with the rules, the scoring and a few tricks.
Thor's stone
Thorstein is an Old Norse name, Þórsteinn: Thor's stone. Something solid that still gets struck by lightning now and then. That's the kind of game we're after: simple enough to explain in a minute, sturdy enough to play all night, with a bit of thunder when the table gets loud.
That's the spirit behind the forge and the runes on our home page. The runes behind the games spell out our name in Elder Futhark, the oldest runic alphabet.
Keeping the fire lit
Our games are free to play. To pay for servers and keep making new ones, the games show a few ads, kept away from the action: never on a game board or over the buttons you press. This site's own pages, like this one, have none.
If you'd rather not see ads at all, Thorstein Gold turns them off everywhere and supports us directly. And if you just enjoy the games, telling a friend helps more than you'd think.
Pull up a chair
Got an idea for a game, found a bug, or just want to say hello? We'd love to hear from you.
